Mercy Jerop

Breaking News!
We don't know what to do. This child was found at our main gate early this morning (around 6:30am). It looks like she was abandoned by her mother. We have been checking with the elders and children in the community the whole day today and no one could identify her. She is about 3-4 years old. She only knows her Mom left her this morning and ran away on a motorbike. It has been reported to the police but they don't know what to do with her since they put Criminals and suspects in their custody. She is back home with us after a long day of searching for answers and family. Our hearts are broken to see something like this, how can a mom do sick thing like this to such a sweet innocent child?? She has eaten well all day in our care and Lily acting like the sweet big sister she is let her wear her pajamas to bed! Lily is so loving and accepting and said she wants to be her friend and hold her hand tomorrow! Lily can't wait to give her a bath and pick out more clothes for her to wear! Kids are kids, they show love no matter what. Even Grace family and the children in the community have been following her, holding her hands and telling her that she will be okay. We are in a dilemma at this point. Please keep her and all of us in your prayers. I am very exhausted, it has been a long day. Her name is Mercy Jerop.

We took her to the nearby town of FLAX to see if anyone recognized her.
No one knew her or where she came from. But obviously a lot of people who were curious to see.
